SBTRKT (pronounced "subtract") is a London dubstep production vet who's made his name remixing the likes of M.I.A., Gorillaz, Tinie Tempah, and Basement Jaxx. On his new self-titled LP, he recruits Little Dragon's Yukimi Nagano for "Wildfire" -- a track Drake liked so much he threw his own verse on it. The video just dropped, and it's hot. Like, really hot.
The clip focuses on a woman in a room, feverishly sweating and writhing on a bed. The heat unglues the wallpaper, and the colorful paint on a tribal mask (like SBTRKT wears during his live performances) drips to the floor, where the woman crawls toward a faucet for the relief of cooling water.
The track has a minimal drum machine beat, wobbling digital effects, and Nagano -- who was profiled in a recent SPIN feature -- softly cooing, "You're like a wildfire / You got me rising high / Your innocence / Drowning in / Would you save me?"
SBTRKT's self-titled LP is set to drop July 28 via Young Turks, but can be streamed online now.
